Russell Poole - Trivia, Family, Bio

Detective who rose to fame as a member of the Los Angeles Police Department for being the primary investigator of the murder of rapper Notorious B.I.G. His investigation formed the basis for the Pulitzer-prize winning book LAbyrinth by Randall Sullivan. 

Before Fame

He joined the LAPD in 1981. Within three years, he became a detective trainee. 

Trivia

He was a central investigating figure for the LAPD during the infamous Rampart Scandal of the late 1990s. He contributed an alternative theory to the murder of Tupac Shakur in the crime non-fiction book Tupac:187. 

Family Life

His father was a member of the LAPD.
