Paul Rudd is one of the most recognizable faces in Hollywood, from Friends to Ant-Man, there’s something for everyone. However, his life outside of the screen may not be as ‘glam’ as you thought.
The Hollywood star became a teen idol when he rose to fame almost three decades ago in the 1995 hit movie, Clueless. Since then, he’s gone on to have an incredible career, and owns a sweet shop on the side, and he even works the registers. He’s just like us!
Inside Paul Rudd’s normal life – including working in his sweet shop
The sweet shop in question is Samuel’s Sweet Shop in New York, where the 54-year-old can often be seen chatting with customers and working the register.
“He takes time to speak to the staff and learn their names and ask them questions about their lives, and he’ll talk about his life and show us pictures from the Super Bowl or tell us what’s going on with his house or his dog,” his managing partner John Traver told US Weekly.
However, it’s not like Rudd needs the extra cash, as he’s cashed in an estimated $41 million for his work as Ant-Man. All in all, he’s said to have an estimated net work of $70 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.
There’s a reason he’s known as the nicest man in showbiz!
As for his living situation, the star resides in the small town of Rhinebeck, with a population of under 8000. His sweet shop is also situated in the idyllic village.
He lives with his wife of 21 years, movie producer Julie Yaeger, and their children, Jack, 17, and Darby, 13.
“Paul fell in love with the scenery, the community and the quiet, and doesn’t plan on leaving until his kids are off to college, and maybe not even then,” a source told the publication.
The star reveals the ‘best thing’ about working in the sweet shop
“The best thing about being an owner of a candy shop is getting my favorite holiday candy in June,” Paul jokes about his shop over on their website.
If you were ever wondering what the Ghostbuster star’s favorite candy is, it’s Clodhoppers, as he says they’re so delicious “they actually make me angry”.
As for his wife Julie, her fave is their famous Dutch laces, which have the “taste of childhood”.
