Is Alec Cabacungan still Alive or Dead?

Alec Cabacungan is an American born with a rare genetic disease called osteogenesis imperfecta, a condition that makes the bones soft and abnormally formed. He was born on May 8th, 2002 to Gil and Alma. His parents were informed of his condition before he was born, but his birth took an emotional toll on his parents.

Alec was appointed the spokesperson at Shriners Children’s Hospital because of his positive and optimistic attitude despite undergoing several surgeries and having broken 60 bones in his body. He featured in the hospital’s commercial and became a fan favorite.

He has been very outspoken about his condition, educating and creating awareness about osteogenesis imperfecta. Alec’s dream is to be a sports broadcaster, the fact he is in a wheelchair has not stopped him from being a sport nut especially basketball. Some of his idols are Tiger Wood, Charles Barkley, Shaquille O’Neal and Brett Favre.
