American professional football coach William Stephen Belichick (Bill Belichick) was born on April 16, 1952, in Nashville, Tennessee. Bill Belichick currently serves as the head coach of the National Football League’s New England Patriots (NFL). Belichick effectively doubles as the team’s general manager because he has considerable control over the football operations of the Patriots. Bill Belichick holds many coaching records, including winning a record six Super Bowls as the Patriots’ head coach and two more as the New York Giants’ defensive coordinator. Belichick is regarded as one of the best NFL coaches in league history. Belichick served as the Patriots’ head coach and chief executive during the team’s dynasty from 2001 to 2019, and he was a key player during that time.
Bill Belichick started working as a coach in 1975, and by 1985, he had been hired by Bill Parcells, the head coach of the New York Giants, to serve as his defensive coordinator. Before Belichick left in 1991 to take the helm as head coach of the Cleveland Browns, he and Parcells shared two Super Bowl victories. After spending five seasons with Cleveland, he was let go at the end of the 1995 campaign. In both New England, where the club lost the Super Bowl XXXI, and the New York Jets, he reunited with Parcells.
