Double denim is back, and Anne Hathaway has put her own style on the old trend, with a risky denim corset. However, she may have ‘future regrets’ if it goes back to being a fashion faux pas.
The Hollywood star is known for her iconic fashion looks, and she made sure she lived up to her name when leaving the Good Morning America studios in New York with her ‘strange’ denim corset. Business at the top, party at the bottom, maybe?
Anne Hathaway ‘risks it all’ in double denim corset
The Devil Wears Prada movie star was all smiles in New York City, and at first glance, onlookers may think she was stunning in a plain black blazer.
However, it wasn’t business as usual with Hathaway. Putting her own twist on the double denim trend, the 40-year-old wore a black suit jacket, held by a denim corset.
Her ‘double waisted’ pants consisted of denim on the top, and business as usual with the black pants underneath.
Adding to the unusual but chic look, the star added a pair of dark sunglasses and a pair of black stilettos.
If anyone can rock this look, it’s Anne Hathaway.
Fans are divided on the look
Of course, a look like this isn’t going to get everyone’s approval. But one thing’s for sure it’s going to get people talking. And that’s exactly what the internet did as fans took to X, formerly known as Twitter to discuss what they thought.
“God I love her. She looks GOODT!!!!” exclaimed one fan.
Another, who loved the outfit wrote: “I need this fit by today by noon”
“Oh she ate!!” wrote another.
However, others weren’t too keen on the look, as one wrote: “Um this is a miss.”
“What is this she’s wearing??” questioned another.
Well, as long as the double denim trend slays, most fans are calling it a slay.
Anne Hathaway hoping to work with Hollywood legend once again
One fashion icon Anne is hoping to get approval from is Miranda Priestly. Yep, that’s right she’s hoping to be able to work with legend Meryl Streep once again.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight at the premiere of her new film She Came to Me, the star said she ‘wishes’ to work with Streep again in the future.
“Oh my gosh, I would love that,” Hathaway gushed. “I wish. I wish. I wish. She’s very busy.”
The duo paired up in the iconic Devil Wears Prada all the way back in 2006, and although there are no plans for an onscreen reunion just yet, we have our fingers (and toes) crossed.
